Summer 2024 - Outdoor Painting and Drawing Days

Every week throughout the Summer Holidays I host outdoor days in different locations.

There is always a coffee shop involved and every location is chosen as a site of interest. This year, I have widened the scope to include venues further from Stafford. I have also made some events longer than others. There is no formal tuition; however I always have an idea of what I aim to achieve on the day. You are welcome to come for part of the time or spend the whole day. Better halves and grandchildren are encouraged to join in.

Below is the list for the summer. I will email every week as a reminder and to give any further information.

There are great sessions to keep your drawing and painting eye in, as well great social events.

If you are battling for transport, please contact me, there is always something that can be arranged to help.

There is no charge for these events. Your participation is at your own risk.

OUTDOOR PAINTING/DRAWING DAYS SUMMER 2024 In the event that the weather is not good enough for the event to go ahead, I will put a message at the top of the home page of my website as well as sending what’s app messages to all groups. All events are on Wednesdays With the exception of Ashbourne and Shrewsbury you do not need to tell me if you are attending.
24 July	10am – 1pm	Wildlife Centre at Wolseley Bridge Toilets Café Bring a portable stool	Meet in the café between 10 and 10.30
31 July	11am – 3pm	Denstone Coffee Shop Main Road, Denstone, Uttoxeter ST14 5HF, - B5031 Opposite All Saints Church Toilets Café Bring a portable stool	Meet at the Farm shop Café 11am Churnet Valley Railway All Saints Church Jubilee Tree
7 August	3pm – 5pm	Old buildings Southan Heritage Shopping Village Dunston Farm, Dunston, Staffordshire, ST18 9AB Bring a portable stool	2.30 - 5pm There is a Cafe and toilet Free parking
14 August	1pm – 3pm	The Rook House, The Boar Inn, Moddershall, Stone ST15 8TG Café Toilets Bring a portable stool	Meet 1pm in the Café Converted Stables Antique Shop Duck Pond Country surroundings Old pub
21 August	11am – 4pm	Ashbourne Meet at Courtney Art Gallery & Café 50 St John Street, Ashbourne, DE6 1GH We will leave the gallery at about 12noon having filled up on lunch and coffee. Bring a portable stool	Be inspired by art Tiny lanes and quaint buildings. We will be doing a walking, drawing/painting amble with at least 2 coffee stops.
28 August	10 am – 6pm	Shrewsbury Meet at Stafford Station Train 9.35 – Return 18.02 Stafford £23.80 Bring a portable stool (Optional make your own way to Shrewsbury – meet at Bear Steps Cafe, St Alkmonds Pl, Shrewsbury SY1 1UH) Half a mile from the Station Anytime from 11am Meet in the gallery or Bear Steps Café next door. Opens at 10.30	Meet at Stafford Station at 9.15am drawing/painting amble stopping at interesting sites along the way with interesting information about what we are drawing/painting.
